Who is responsible

BirthdayWhisper is a website by piqueras.dev. Contact: info@birthdaywhisper.com.

What we keep about you

Your email address, language, country, timezone, reminder choices, plan and how many times you refreshed ideas this month. A cookie keeps you signed in, and another remembers your language. Both are needed for the site to work, and we use no advertising cookies.

What we keep about the people you add

Their name, birth date, your description of them, and any relationship, budget and notes you add, plus the gift ideas made for them and the reminders sent. Please don’t write sensitive details, such as health, religion, politics or sexual orientation.

If someone added you

People you add haven’t signed up themselves. We keep their details because of your legitimate interest in remembering the birthdays of people close to you, only you can see them, and they are never sent anything. If you believe someone added you and you want to be removed, write to info@birthdaywhisper.com.

Why we use your data, and our legal basis

To provide the service you asked for: birthdays, reminders and gift ideas (performing our contract with you). To keep the service safe and to measure how it’s used without identifying anyone (our legitimate interest). To meet tax and legal duties, where they apply.

Who else handles the data

Anthropic generates the gift ideas. It receives your description, the relationship, age, budget, notes, gifts to avoid, country, currency and language, but not the person’s name or your email. Hostinger provides hosting, the database and email. Umami measures visits anonymously, without cookies. Paddle will handle payments when Premium is available, and it is the seller in those purchases.

Some of these companies may process data outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as standard contractual clauses. If you click a store link, you leave our site and that store’s own privacy policy applies.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it or close your account. A person you delete is kept for about a day so you can undo it, and then removed. Deleting your account removes your people, their ideas and your reminders. Backups may keep copies for a limited time, and we keep whatever the law requires.

Your rights

You can access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your data, and take a copy with you. In Settings you can download your data and delete your account at any time. For anything else, write to info@birthdaywhisper.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority, which in Spain is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).

Age

BirthdayWhisper is for people aged 16 or over.

Changes

If this policy changes in an important way, we’ll tell you by email or on the site.
